FunFlight was conceived by Director Michèl Verheem and developed together with Michael Loccisano, who pulled together a handful for fellow private pilots to take 10 children in need for a joy-flight.
On hearing about the initiative, founding members Martin Robson and Richard Ogilvie from the Peninsula Aero Club and Bill Bristow, founder of aviation charity, Angel Flight, immediately offered their support, and the first event grew like a mushroom.
A very substantial donation from the estate of Paul Burgess allowed FunFlight to shift gear and become a registered charity that now helps organise events with aeroclubs all over Australia.
We take our role in the community seriously, we take safety seriously and we are serious about trying to reach every child that we can.
