FunFlight smiles around the world.
Mission
We enable children touched by adversity and chronic illness to experience the joy of flying, so that, for a moment, they forget the circumstances that are in the forefront of their mind most of the time.
To accomplish this, we organise aviation-related events and activities and enrol and empower individuals and other organisations to do the same.
We work in close collaboration with organisations that aim to achieve similar outcomes.
To achieve this we:
- Safely organise aviation-related events for underprivileged children and children touched by a chronically or serious illness, their siblings and their carers.
- Engage with Aero Clubs and aviation entities throughout the world to enable the above events to take place.
- Raise funds in support of events organised by FunFlight through sponsorship and other types of fund-raising activities.
- Manage the funds raised in a manner which both safeguards the funds and maximises returns to ensure the continued operation of FunFlight and the ongoing success of its activities.
- Provide support and inspiration to pilots participating in FunFlight organised or sanctioned events.
- Promote FunFlight to the public and organisations nationally and internationally with the aim of raising funds for sanctioned events.
- Volunteers are FunFlight's greatest asset. FunFlight supports and nurtures their needs, ensuring their commitment and effort is recognised.
- As a charity, FunFlight maximises the percentage of funds raised that flow direct to it's programs by minimising overheads and soliciting donations of time, goods and services in everything it does.
- FunFlight members, directors and the Board are passionate about the cause and are committed to the highest level of ethics and integrity in the management and governance of FunFlight.
