Paul Burgess
FunFlight honours the memory of Paul Burgess
| Paul was born in 1941. He left home early and worked as a fisherman, abattoir worker, then in PNG with the army, rising to Captain. After Independence he was a skipper on a boat jointly owned doing inter island freight. He tells the story about a circus tour they took around and of an elephant with diarrhea after eating the wrong hay which Paul had provided. Paul bought a house in Morseby and finally returned to Australia in 98, settling in Cairns still doing work in PNG as a quantity surveyor. After being diagnosed with bowel cancer he used to stay at Tyabb with his brother Jon and family while undergoing treatment at the Austin hospital. |

Jon Burgess' donation allowed FunFlight to shift gear and become a national event with international aspirations. Everyone involved with the charity recognises what an enormous benefit and privilege it is to receive funding of this magnitude and will honour Paul's memory by building a charity that will bring pleasure to those less fortunate for many years to come.
