Rockhampton

The following report was recieved from Mr Graham Dooley, President of the Rockhampton Aero Club. Additional photos from the day are available here.

A great day was had by all with approximately 80 people enjoying their flights, it was great to
have assistance from Bill Bristow from Angel Flight and the help we received from aircraft
owner pilots Chris Nobbs, Neil Richardson, Paul Lancaster, Russell Wallis and Garth Barnes
it was also very gratifying that Guy Jones, Sir Graham McCamley and Gary Hill allowed the
club to use their aircraft for such a worthy cause.

I would like to thank regular staffers, CFI Geoff Smith, Rhondda Couper for attending to the
administration side and Phil Whitely for taking the time to look after SLM for the day.

Darryl Schneider from Camp Quality asked me to thank all who were involved in making it
such a great day for the children and their families and said the "job was well done"

It was great to have the back up of the Airport Firies; I was informed they did 15 trips, the
Harley Davidson Motor Cycle Club who regularly gets involved with these organisations and
not to forget the Vintage Motor Cycle Club. I must applaud the Singaporean Defence Forces
for all their assistance and in particular Major Andy Lim who was in charge of the Exercise
ably assisted by Squadron John Woods from the RAAF. They were very helpful in organizing
the Singaporean contribution to the day. The Rockhampton Regional Council, Airport
Management Team played an important part in ensuring that the day ran smoothly and I must
say I received tremendous corporation from them.

I would like to thank all who were involved in making the day such a great success, and a
special thanks to the ladies who gave up their time to look after the preparation of the food,
the ice cream van and manning the bar not forgetting the chefs who attended to the BBQ.
Special thanks must go to our Club Patron, Graeme Acton who generously donated the meat
for the BBQ, Steve Scarlet for providing all the salads, Prue and Greg Hinchliffe for kindly
donating 14 dozen ice creams.

This was the clubs first Funflight but I am sure that it will be on again next year with more
flying organisations in Queensland being involved.
